The Complete Book of Traditional Reiki, released in July 2010, is a revised and updated edition of Traditional Reiki for Our Times, published in 1998, a reference book on traditional Reiki techniques for level I practitioners that was published in five languages and became a valued teaching manual worldwide. The new book brings the history of Reiki up to date, with a beautiful and inspired translation by Rev. Hyakuten Inamoto of the Usui Memorial in Tokyo, Japan. Lesley Crossingham, in a review of this book in New Dawn, an Australian publication, commented: "I am delighted to recommend this concise, enlightening, and thoroughly enjoyable book by Amy Z. Rowland. It is a definite 'must have' for any serious student of alternative healing techniques, but also for those wishing to understand the essence of spiritual energy..." Amy Rowland's other books include Reiki for the Heart and Soul: The Reiki Principles as Spiritual Pathwork, published in 2008 by Inner Traditions. This book is intended to offer inspiration and help to Reiki practitioners seeking to live their lives with serenity, gratitude, and joy, during difficult times. Intuitive Reiki For Our Times, published in 2006, provides useful information and inspiring stories to Reiki practitioners who seek to use their Reiki-enhanced intuitive abilities in their healing practice. All these books are available in bookstores and online from Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and independent bookstores in the U.S. and abroad.

Amy Rowland, M.A., ABMP, is a traditional Usui Reiki Master. She teaches traditional Western Reiki (Usui Shiki Ryoho), Gendai Reiki, and continuing education workshops for practitioners on Reiki and intuition and the Reiki principles. She also writes about Reiki for print and online publications.
